Obserbed and projected data
on climate change
Displayed area: Saga
You can find maps and graphs on climate, impacts and information on adaptation measures.
This section presents scientific data on meteorological observations, future climate projections, and climate change impact projections.
*All projections provided on this website are based on specific scenarios and may differ from actual results due to various factors (uncertainty).

  • In "1. Reference Information (GSI Tiles)", "2. Reference Information (Digital National Land Information)" and "3. Reference Information (Statistics Bureau Data)", you can select a part of Geospatial Information Authority tiles, National Land Information or Statistics Bureau Data as a reference layer. National Land Information and Statistics Bureau Data are displayed after editing and processing the contents of the download sites (links above). For details of each reference information, such as a legend, click the Help button next to "1. Reference Information (GSI Tiles)", etc.
  • In "4. Background Map", you can select a map to be displayed in the background from "White Map", "Standard Map", etc., of the GSI (Geospatial Information Authority of Japan) tiles. In addition, you can also select "White Map (Prefecture)" and "White Map (Municipalities)", which are created by editing the data from the National Land Information (same as above).
  • In "5. Prefecture Extraction," you can select "Yes" to display climate and impact indicator data only for the area of a specific prefecture. By clicking the "Settings" button, you can specify prefectures to be extracted. Some data types do not support prefecture extraction.
  • In "6. Municipal boundaries", you can select "Display" to display the municipal boundaries. By clicking the "Settings" button, you can specify boundaries to be displayed.

Remarks

Future projections of annual and monthly averages daily temperature for SSP-RCP scenarios and climate models
Areas with no data are land and water areas (lakes, swamps, etc.).
The SSP1-RCP1.9 (SSP119) and SSP3-RCP7.0 (SSP370) scenarios are available only for the following GCMs: MIROC6, MRI-ESM2-0 and IPSL-CM6A-LR.
